Reading Braille books is a sequential process of information transmission. For lack of effective guidance to abstract and obscure information, all information in Braille books is expressed in six-dot Braille codes. Also, there is no graph in such books to guide the reading. The transmission form of existing Braille books needs to be developed. This paper is to study a design system of touch-type graph reading guidance which can effectively help the blind in reading and memorizing. The main body design is to be completed by means of concept book. In design, touch-type graphs will be used to extract, arrange, summarize and guide a large amount of information in books so as to realize enhanced information transmission and more effectively cater to the thinking and memory styles of readers, accomplishing double guided-reading results with half the effort. The focus of the study is to develop an unusual form of Braille books that are more convenient for the touch-type reading, and to summarize rules in design of touch-type graph reading guidance to provide solid theoretical support for extension of the design. This paper emphasizes more on the study of the reading guidance feature of touch-type graphs so as to transform the unitary Braille reading to a multi-dimensional process of information transmission and seek for a more human and barrier-free design.Despite the rapid development of multi-media techniques, the paper book form is still irreplaceable for its unique reading recepts. Braille books are windows to the world for the blind. The design of touch-type graph reading guidance may be directly used in design and development of existing Braille reading materials, which breaks through the bottle neck that the blind have to memorize a large amount of information in reading, and has direct practical significance. In addition, the application of touch-type graph reading guidance design in explanation of abstract concepts and visual information enhances readability of Braille reading materials and fills the gap that graphs, outlines and effects of light and shade are incomprehensible to blind men. Moreover, further development of the design system of touch-type graph reading guidance can improve the barrier-free design system, such as touch-type guide indicating graph design and classification retrieval graphs.
