Today people pay more attention to the environment protection. The issue of improving the efficiency of the electrostatic precipitation has caused wide concern. The flow characteristics of the electrostatic precipitation is one of the most important influencing factors, and that is very simple method to improving the efficiency.The flow characteristics electrostatic precipitation has been investigated numerically in this article using the standard k ?εturbulence model integrated with the SIMPLE algorithm. The porous medium was performed to investigate the porosity, and adjust the porosity on different regions of the plank, and the averaging gas distribution or the skewed gas flow will be formed in the electrostatic precipitation, by comparing the result of numerical simulation with the data of experiment. Changing the configurations of the electrostatic precipitation in four methods, the groove planks were put in the exit of the electric field, and the averaging gas distribution was formed. The groove planks were put in the exit of the electric field, the skewed gas flow was formed in the electric field. Heighten the height of the exit flue, and the skewed gas flow was formed. The groove planks were put in the exit of the electric field, and at the same time, heighten the height of the exit flue, the skewed gas flow was formed. The pressure and velocity field was analyzed in the same condition,comparing the result of numerical simulation with the data of experiment, and the optimization scheme of skewed gas flow was put forward.The results show that three planks with different porosities which are installed between the enter flue and adjusting the porosity on different regions of the plank can obtain the averaging gas distribution or the smooth skewed gas flow, and the skewed gas flow characteristics of the electrostatic precipitation is affected by the porosity distribution. At the same time, changing the configuration, can obtain the optimization gas flow. Put the groove planks in the exit of the electric field can form better averaging gas distribution, and heighten the height of the exit flue can obtain the skewed gas flow.
