In this paper, the photosensitive monomers ( CEMA ) were synthesized by acylation reaction of 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate ( HEMA ) with cinnamyl choride ( CI ). Series of P(DM-co-CEMA-co-MMA) were synthesized by free radical copolymerization of N, N- dimethylaminoethyl methacrylate ( DM ) which could be ionized, CEMA and methylmetha- crylate ( MMA ) in 1,4-dioxane. The configuration characters of the copolymers were characterized by IR, GPC, 1H MNR and DSC techniques. The photosensitive amphiphilic random copolymer PDCM and their PIDCM which had positively charged was got through adding lactic acid into PDCM can be self-assembled in selective solvent dioxane/H2O into spherical micelles. The micellization action of PDCM and PIDCM were studied by means of UV,ζpotential DLS and TEM. The stable nanospheres were prepared by the photo-cross- linking of the micelles. Factors such as DM content, ionization degree of PIDCM had direct impacts on the formation of micelles, theζpotential, the fluid dynamics radius ( Rh ) and the surface of the micelles. The CWC and theζpotential of the micelles increase along with the increased content of DM and the increased degree of neutralization ( DN ). The Rh decrease along with the increased content of DM and the increased degree of neutralization ( DN ). The Rh of the after photo-cross-linked micelles is smaller than the Rh of the before photo-cross- linked micelles. The area on the surface hydrophobic micro-surroundings of the micelles is gradually decreased in size along with the increased degree of neutralization ( DN ) and after photo-cross-linked.The formed micelle was used as a stabilizer for emulsions. As a kind of nanosized macromolecule solid particle emulsifier it is novel and could stabilize O/W emulsions. In addition, the properties of this solid particle could be easily controlled by content of DM in the random copolymer PDCM and PIDCM, ionization degree of PIDCM, photo-crosslink, surface and conditions of micellization. These factors have effections on the appearance, the stability and effect of emulsion. And with the more electricity on the face, smaller size and more hydrophilic area on the face of the micelles, emulsion droplets in the size tend to gradually reduce and average, the emulsification is improving. In addition, the formed micelle used as a stabilizer for emulsions applied as the sunshine cream which have emulsification function was studied. This work, therefore, displays a potential use of the micelles in the cosmetic, oil extraction and so on.
