Hydrogen fluoride, in the fume of aluminum smelting, is harmful to human beings and plants. It must be absorbed before discharged. The subject comes from Gui Yang AL-Mg institution, which requires designing totally new absorption equipment. The efficiency of the new equipment should be better than the VRI's.In this thesis, the forces acting on the particles of the fume current have been analyzed, and make it clear which forces are the important influence on the track of its movement. Based on the analysis, double-venture equipment is designed. In order to measure its pressure consumption, flow processing simulation is employed with FLUENT. The simulation result indicates the value of the pressure consumption is high in the first design. Increasing the ration of the area of throat with the inlet from 50% to 66%, the value of the pressure consumption reduces from 700Pa to120 Pa correspondingly.Based on the double-venture equipment, the multiple-phase model is constructed with FLUENT as assistant design.A rudimental experiment has been taken into practice. In the experiment, the distribution of particles in the equipment is detected by PIV. According to the pictures, the best scheme has been chosen to applicant in further experiment. With orthogonal method, the sequence of the factors influence the mixture effect is as follows: the velocity of the fumes, the volume of the power-delivering gas and the mass-flow of the powder, and the best value are respectively 15.5m/s, 0.033m3/s and 2600kg/h, which are useful reference data to next step.
