Medium plate straightener with nine rolls developed independently by china in 1970s mainly deals with surface quality and material performance of wide and thick plates. Currently, with market need increasing, it's necessary to improve occupating coefficient and ability of this equipment which can be realized by analyzing its practical performance. During the producing process, there could be some malfunction resulted from the fracture of screw bolts that combine the two parts of destribution box, which have a negative effect on production and economic performance. So it's very important to analyze the bearing capacity of transmission agent in heavy plate straightener and calculate the depressed distance according to given specifications so as to obtain operating instruction for safe production.The bearing capacity of drive system is calculated in general ways, including reducer, coupling, distribution box, drive shaft, bearings, case, and connecting bolts. In the meanwhile, modelings for finite element analysis of distributor box, drive shaft, palm end and clevis are established and analyzed. Considering the relation among material performance, geometric parameter, depressed distance, straightening velocity and the whole system, the maximum load applied to the drive system is gained. On the other hand, the maximum of depressed distance can be obtained by progamming based on the given parameters of material and the width and length of plates, by which the operating instructure can be formulated. Finally, strength of connecting bolts is verified in accordance with the maximum load of the electric machine, and then cause of crack can be found out.
