Medium plate straightener with eleven rolls is designed independently by the China First Heavy Industries(CFHI) in 2001 mainly deals with surface quality and material performance of wide and thick plates. Currently, with market need increasing, the maxiaml width of new rolling is increased from 2350mm to 2700mm, so straightener with eleven rolls is not adapt to the wedth of feeding material, and it severely affects the produce. It's very important to analyze the bearing capacity of straightener. And it is worth to reconstructing equipment so as to obtain operating width of feeding material. So it is important to economy value.The principle of straightener with eleven rolls is analyzed in this paper, the paper also research the bearing capacity of roll and framework structure. And new reconstructing scheme is also designed such as notching in the framework structure of straightener and reinforcing in outboard. Modelings for finite element analysis of the new framework structure of straightener are established and analyzed. The bearing capacity of the new framework structure is calculated through finite element analysis. Intensity and rigidity are examined..On the comprehensive analysis base,details of reconstruct are designed and accomplished. Key technology such welding and straightening are researched in the implementation process. Key technical problems example that when lagre scale assistant facilities can be not used in reinforcement plate's tight assembly and asymmetrical welding, how to prevent four-pillar deformation of framework structure are solved. The success implementation of this program, achieve better results for saving a large number costs for company, shortening the time for reconstruct, and creating greater economic and social benefits.
