At first, the technical conditions and the effect of amplification and circulation experiment of 4,4′-diiodobiphenyl which was prepared by diphenyl and iodine were systematically studied in the paper. The optimal condition of the route in 86.7% yield was that the reaction mixure was proceeded at 85℃for 100min, the molar proportion of diphenyl, iodine and ammonium persulfate was 1:1.1:1.2, the concentration of diphenyl was 0.46mol/L and the solvent was composed of 15% water,concentrated sulfuric acid which was 70% of diphenyl in quality and acetic acid.3-Methylphenylamine and 4-butylphenylamine were respectively reacted with sodium amide first and then were respectively reacted with sodium benzenesulfonate to get 3-methyldiphenylamine and 4-butyldiphenylamine in 73.6% and 54.4% yield. the technical conditions of 4-n-butyldiphenylamine was studied systematically in this paper. The best temperature is 140℃for the reaction of 4-butylphenylamine and sodium amide and the best time is 14h for the reaction of sodium 4-butylphenylamine and sodium benzenesulfonate.3-Methyldiphenylamine,4-methyldiphenylamine and 4-butyldiphenylamine were respectively reacted with 4,4′-diiodobiphenyl to get N,N′-diphenyl-N,N′-bis (3-metylphenyl)benzidine(m-TPD),N,N′-diphenyl-N,N′-bis(4-metylphenyl)benzidine (p-TPD) and N,N′-diphenyl-N,N′-bis(4-butylphenyl)benzidine(BTPD) in 88.2%,86.1% and 24.6% yield. The reactions all use cuprous chloride and 1,10-phenanthroline as catalyzer.The products were characterized by UV, IR ,MS and the structure of the compounds was confirmed correctly. The organic photoconductive device of functional separation type was prepared with m-TPD,p-TPD and BTPD as charge transport materials, and with Y-TiOPc as charge genenation material. The test result of the device showed that the compounds had good performance of hole transport.
