The situation of water shortage is increasingly serious in northern cities of China.Wastewater reuse is one of the important means for alleviating water crisis,but there are few systematic analysis and optimization methods under uncertainty.In this paper, the municipal wastewater reuse system(MWRs) was analyzed and optimized.In general,it includes:a) establishing the subsystems and their mutual relationship through systematic analyses,b) interpreting the interaction with social-economic system and environmental system,c) summarizing the features of the system.Based on the integration of interval and fuzzy nonlinear programming,the inexact mathematical model for MWRs was developed,in which the maximum system net benefits was achieved through effectively allocating the water flows among the subsystems model.The proposed method was applied to a case study in Kaifeng City for demonstrating applicability.The reasonable solutions were obtained and some contributions to the systematization of MWRs were made.
