In order to avoid dioxin emission from municipal solid waste combustion(MSW), chemical looping combustion was considered.Thermodynamic equilibrium was used to calculate the interactions between HC1 and CuO,Fe2O3,NiO and CaSO4.The chlorine gas quantity,as well as the distribution of chlorides, metal elements, the Ca element and S element distribution were studied. The H2O and C effect on the chlorine quantity was also investigated. The possible intermediate reactions were calculated with standard Gibbs free energy and reaction equilibrium constants for HCl and Fe2O3 reaction. The experiments about the reactions between HCl and Fe2O3 were carried out.Chlorine gas was measured by methyl orange spectrophotometric method. Results showed that rare chlorine beyond the detection limit was produced under 700 to 900℃,small amount of chlorine(<1.5μg)was detected at 950℃.It was suggested that Fe2O3 could be used as an oxygen carrier for MSW disposing under 700 to 900℃.
