This paper is about the temperature control in production of chlorinated polyethylene.Generalized Predictive Controller(GPC) was used in order to cope with the nonlinearity,large time-delay and time-varying of the reactor temperature control in the system.Solvent method or aqueous phase method which owned by Anhui Research Institution of Chemical Industry was used in most of the national corporations.Control technology especially in chlorinated process is its disadvantage.However,the temperature in chlorinated process directly influences the quality of plastic products.The temperature can't be too high or too low and must be in an exact range. The precision of chlorinated process' temperature has an important role in reducing the consumption,improving the quality of production and lengthening the longevity of kettle.So it is required to find a kind of controller,which is suitable for temperature control and can achieve satisfactory performances in complicated process conditions.The generalized predictive controller with proportional and integral structure(PIGPC) was applied to the simulating equipment of temperature control in the production of chlorinated polyethylene.A lot of theoretical research,simulations and experiments were done.The main works are as follows: (1) Production of chlorinated polyethylene and the process of polyethylene chlorinated were studied,the researching status of temperature control was analyzed,and the route of solution was pointed out.(2) The principles of the generalized predictive controller and improved generalized predictive controllers were researched.Their advantages and defaults were compared by simulation.(3) The generalized predictive controller with proportional and integral structure(PIGPC) was studied,and it was used to control the temperature systems with large time-delay.Matlab and VB simulation research showed that the PIGPC can obtain better control effect in both dynamic and steady-state performance.(4)Temperature control in production of chlorinated polyethylene was simulated by experimental equipment.PIGPC was realized by Automation Studio Basic Language,developed on the programming computer controller(PCC) of B&R and applied in the temperature control of experimental equipment.The results of experiments showed that the performance of PIGPC temperature control systems was satisfactory in system's stability,robustness and real-time tracing etc.
