The twin-cutter turning is an efficient processing method. The processing programs for lathe's left and right tool posts are separated in the form of subroutines, while they are matched and coordinated with each other. Information-exchanging exists between the channels of CNC system. The programs are so complicated that the errors are difficult to find out, and it is hard to ensure their correctness. Before the NC code is put into operation, the explicit and implicit errors,including cutter interference or over-cutting,and whether the left and right tool posts are matched, can be checked via computer simulation. It's significant to shorten man-hour and improve the utilization ratio of machine tool and the products'quality. The main contents are as follows:1. The development trend of NC machine tool technology and NC programming technology is discussed. An overview on current situation of NC machining simulation is presented. The function structure and some key technologies of visualization check system for twin-cutter turning NC code are analyzed.2. The structure and feature of NC code is studied based on the machining principle of twin-cutter turning. The method of translating NC code is introduced according to compiler principle.3. The implementation method for components of NC code translator is discussed in detail, and the storage format of translated data is defined.4. Track-connecting technology based on C-cutter radius compensation is researched. The cause of producing over-cutting phenomena is analyzed, and the measures to eliminate it are provided. The method and technology of track simulation is implemented on AutoCAD, and check system for NC code is developed.
