Study On CAM Of Character Contours For NC Punch Press

Numerical control technology is widely used in automation industry,and it's on basic and kernel ground.NC punch press gets a wide range of applications because of their features of low cost and simple operations in small and medium enterprises.At present,the application of NC punch press mainly constraint in the mechanical parts and mold processing,Chinese character processing technology can be said to be a blank,which needs a system to resolve this problem.Studying in the technology of Chinese character processing,a system for NC punch press is developed.The software can get the Chinese characters accurately,set up the manual operations for users based on the processing features of punch,and finally generate the necessary codes for CNC machining.Input the NC code to NC cutting machine,the machine can cut all kinds of character contours.This system has a high economic and practical significance because of its simple,low-cost and cost-effective.First of all,the paper investigates Chinese character processing technology on NC punch press,and then four key technical issues have been proposed:contour extraction and curve fitting,tendons leaving,track punching,path optimization.After the analyzing,the TrueType fonts is used,the contour information of which will be extracted by GetGlyphOutline,a function of Windows.The information will fit the curves using the de Casteljau algorithm.Tendon leaving is a special function,which is also essential and unique for NC punch press.A deep analysis has been given.The math problems have been solved and the detail steps of tendons leaving have been given.And the calculation of the track punching is also a special function.It needs to carry out the inscribed or circumscribed polygon of the contours polygon of Chinese characters.In the paper,a discussion is given at the situation.Finally,a detail analysis has been carried out for path optimization algorithm.Then the needs of the software form the angle of users is given,and the software structure has been designed.Furthermore,modules of the software were reasonably decided,and the function of each module has been introduced.And the data structure and the storage of the software have been introduced,and a reasonable solution for the issues is given.The software CNC system of Chinese character is developed with Microsoft Visual Studio2005.At last of the paper,it shows the detailed procedure of machining with the software.
