The high-voltage power source is an important part of electrostatic precipitator, and the single-phase power frequency high-voltage power source is used widely. This power source has advantages of mature technique,simple structure,higher reliability and etc,but the thyristor AC voltage regulator adopted in this power source leads some disadvantages such as slower responding speed,larger AC ripples and etc.Under the traditional spark rate control mode,the electric energy utilization rate of this power source is extremely low,and great amount of electric energy is consumed in spark-over,back corona and corona current which is not be used for dust particles charge.This thesis proposes a dynamic detection method,which is synchronous with the thyristor conducting period,to catch the spark premonition and control it immediately.This provides a foundation for operation with no spark or less spark.Simultaneously,this thesis adopts pulse power supply mode,which can reduce the secondary current and energy consumption effectively and has the some function to inhibit the back corona.Based on this,a predesign of energy-saving controller of EP high-voltage power source was implemented.The design block diagram of hardware and software of this energy-saving controller were given in this thesis, and the method of insertion of this energy-saving controller into the original high-voltage control system was proposed.
