With the. development of modern society and economics, environmental issues are coming to our attention more and more. Pollution caused by domestic wastewater is getting worse and well noticed. Sewage treatment is becoming very important and indispensable. This paper is focused on the process design in our country for domestic wastewater treatment and analyzing existing problems in it. Through theoretical analysis, modeling and case identification, this paper is trying to present how we should make the treatment process scientifically. It will help to create fundamental theories for a wastewater treatment process, which produces good quality in effluent and needs relatively less investment and lower maintenance cost. This paper combined qualitative and quantitative analytical methodologies, theoretical analysis and case identification along with comparison approach to look deeply at issues in our sewage treatment process nationwide.Using analytical hierarchy process approach, we transferred half qualitative and quantitative issues to a systematic analytical approach with combination of quantitative and qualitative methods. We broke down issues to different layers and then compared the correlative factors. Through weighting on different factors, we created optimization models to choose the best plan of treatment process. Comparing with industrial plan based on empirical data, our plan reflects the comprehensive impact of all systematic factors and makes the evaluation results more sound and reasonable. The main results of this paper are as below:[1] The issues in design of wastewater treatment process and problems during the design of the factories were presented. The impacts from influent and low concentration and recommended an appropriate inflow volume and requirements on efflunt quality were emphasized.[2] The current wastewater treatment process with analytical hierarchy process was evaluated. Based on the final goals along with characters of multiple objects' evaluation process, we broke down the issues to different layers. So it turned out a hierarchy structure from top to bottom. Through weighting the factors in different layers, we got different evaluation results for a plan. Based on these results, we choose the final optimal solution.[3] The optimal wastewater treatment process based on our current national industrial situation was decided. It was suggested that we should not only to overlook the importance of technical requirements on treatment process but also we should deeply consider the actual industrial situations.
