Water pollution has seriously threatened to human's life and sustainable development of economy. The exploitation of new high-effective flocculants is very important to control water pollution. The organic-inorganic composite flocculant,a new type of high-effective flocculants, has become a hot issue and a new important development direction in the study of flocculant because it has not only the merits of organic constituents but also the merits of inorganic ones.A novel flocculant was synthesized via the reaction of the commercial poly aluminum ferric chloride(PAFC) and cationic modified starch using microwave assistant. The flocculation experiments showed that the effects of the new flocculant on decolorization of isatin waste water , CODcr removal rate of phenol , trassimition rate of oilfiled waste water and Zn2+ removal rate were better than that of pure PAFC respectively.
