Distillation unit is a heat and mass transfer process simultaneously.It is widely used to separate liquid mixture by different boiling points.Distillation,an important mean of product separation and purification,is one of the most widely chemical unit operations,and it has a significant impact on product quality,production efficiency and energy consumption in the production.Traditional distillation device has many disadvantages:large size,high energy consumption,high equipment investment and large managing costs.In response to this problem,rotating packed bed is proposed as a distillation device with high efficient heat and mass transfer characteristics,thereby reducing the equipment size,decreasing energy consumption,reducing costs.In this paper,stainless steel mesh with corrugation as filler,distillation experiment is doing in two single-stage series of counter-current rotating packed.The examining of mass transfer performance in rotating packed bed is the main aim in this experiment,the best operating conditions is found through the orthogonal experiment and a mathematical model of mass transfer performance is established.Theoretical plate number as the review object, experiments investigate the effect of high-gravity factorβ,the feed flow F,reflux ratio R on the mass transfer performance.Orthogonal experiment results show that the flow of raw materials has great effect on the theoretical plate number of the rotating packed bed,and the best operating conditions are determined as follows:high-gravity factorβ= 22.91,material flow F=16Lh-l,reflux ratio R=2,the average theoretical plate height he=29.8mm.On the basis of the best operating conditions,the experiment investigate the effect of the product flow D,the concentration of raw materials xf,gas kinetic factor f on the number of theoretical plates,the results show that in the range of operating conditions of the experiment,the number of theoretical plates of the rotating packed bed increases with the increasing of concentration of raw materials XF,and it apears a max.with the increasing of the product flow of D and gas kinetic factor f,which is D= 3L·h-1,f = 0.4 kg0.5·m<sup>-0.5·s-1,the theoretical plate number reach the maximum value.
