The definition and the class of the corrosion inhibitors are presented in this paper. we introduced the development of copper corrosion inhibitor in the different medium. Based on this, we introduced the measurements detecting performance of inhibition and corrosion mechanism. We introduced the synthesized methods of GT, MMT, DDT, BDPDT, ACAT, TPFT and TAT. Their structures were characterized by IR spectrum. Their corrosion inhibition performance for copper in 5% NaHCO3 solution was studied by polarization curves, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and gravimetric measurement. The surface microstructure was characterized with scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The corrosion kinetics and the effect of temperature on inhibition efficiency were also investigated. Their adsorption actions on the surface of copper and inhibition mechanism were discussed simply. The results showed that these compounds of GT, MMT, DDT, BDPDT, ACAT, TPFT and TAT had good corrosion inhibition performance on copper in 5% NaHCO3 solution. The results of polarization curves showed that these compounds of GT, MMT, DDT, BDPDT, ACAT and TPFT inhibited mainly anode corrosion reactions and they were anodic type inhibitors. But TAT was mixed type inhibitor. The adsorbent isotherm of these compounds on the copper surface followed Langmuir isotherm. The results indicated that these compounds were physical adsorption on the copper surface.
