This paper according to the geographic information system (GIS) designing basic principle, and associating with the oil pipeline distribution features, develops a set of geographic information inquiring navigation system for oil pipe distribution and touring field. The system adopts the more popular integrated secondary developing method at present, which can't only save the cost but also reduce the developing degree of risk, and acquires better running result. Compared with the similar GIS, its inquiring navigations are more clear and visual because the system has large massive high resolution satellite pictures. Only does the user contrast the real objects with the satellite pictures, he can find out the target position and achieve the inquiring navigation purpose.In term of the features which the oil pipeline has such as the vast distribution, the large amount of data, so when we are developing the system the main difficulties to resolve are the massive oil pipeline geographic information data saving and displaying. The paper doesn't use the usual compressing dada method but proposes the separatingsaving and assembly collected displaying method. This method can make the geographic system run without high speed and performance hardware, simultaneously the displaying and inquiring navigation effect is very well.The oil pipeline inquiring navigation system software the paper refers to adopts the integrated secondary developing scheme. The geographic information softwares which the oil pipeline inquiring navigation system software uses are MapInfo7.0 and MapBasic6.5 from the MapInfo Corporation which process the landmark data and satellite pictures into the other data the MapX5.0 can accept, which is suit for the embedded geographic information software development. The developing platform is Visual studio 2003(VC++.net). The Access2003 from the Micsoftware Corporation is used as the geographic information DBMS. This database software providing the data operatation interface for the MaX5.0 and VC++.net, has the high performance when works and can be manipulated easily.In addition to the oil pipeline inquiring navigation software as the GIS superior machine development, the paper also designs the pipeline station terminal data acquisition inferior machine the system equipps. The GIS in the superior machine communicating with the inferior machine by CDMA net implements the electricity energy testing data and the state information's long-distance monitorring to the pipeline station cathode protection equipment. The electricity energy data sampling and processing interface circuit is designed with the interrated chip ATT7022AU. There is a STC89C52RC MCU as the inferior machine central controller which finishes the management for the multipath data processing, liquid crystal displaying, the tactile keyboard and the communication moduleThe system software and inferior machine data acquisition system real running effect demonstrates the designing scheme of the system software and hardware is feasible.
