With the rapid development of crude oil and nature gas industry, the rapid development of the various oil and gas transportation pipelines is also very fast. All kinds of oil and gas pipelines buried in the ground intertwine complicatedly. Most of the construction and maintenance information of the pipelines only depends on the memory of the staff. With the variability of the staff and the passage of time, a variety of underground oil and gas pipeline information will gradually ‘ lost’. In case an accident occurs pipes would not be identified and treated. This will affect pipeline management and production operations and but also pollute the surrounding environment. Therefore, the establishment of a scientific, accurate and complete oil and gas pipeline management information system is very necessary. By implementing the dynamic management of oil and gas pipelines, we can quickly provide the scientific basis of handling oil and gas pipelines corrosion and other accidents.In order to meet the actual production requirements of Jilin Oilfield oil and gas transportation and sales company, we research and establish the information management system about the major oil and gas pipelines. Through the system,the managors and the related operations staff can quickly understand the pipeline information and the geographic information in the office. This will provide technical platform for the rapid drawing up the proposal of the pipeline repair, rescue, transformation, inspections.The information management system include the pipeline database system and geographic information system. The pipeline database system covers pipeline construction characteristics, maintenance information and operational data and other information, such as all the parameters of pipeline construction( construction data, design parameters, cathode protection, welding mode, pressure test, etc.), crossing roads, rivers situation, building companies, construction companies, supervision companies, design companies, reconstruction information, detection cases, maintenance cases, pipeline pigging, information and drawings directory and running parametric data. Geographic information system provides query capabilities at any time, including pipeline route with geographic coordinates, routing villages, terrain elevation, the surrounding roads, rivers, farmland, housing, etc.. While we can measure the length and measure the area through the GIS data processing.Pipeline information management system share the local information through the network.we set permissions for all the users, whose use their permissions within their own level.This system mainly applies web technology, database technology, GOOGLEATH geographic information platform, GIS data conversion processing technology.This achievement has been applied in Jilin Oilfield oil and gas transportation and production, also in the pipeline operation and management, roads selection of the pipeline construction, road choice of the pipelines rescue incidents. This application also plays an important role in outside construction involving tying up pipeline and other aspects.
