In the realm of supramolecular chemistry,great interest has recently been focused on the crystal engineering of coordination frameworks due to their intriguing architectures,new topologies,intertwining and interpenetrating phenomena and their potential applications in microelectronics,nonlinear optics,molecular selection,ion exchange,catalysis and magnetic materials.Molecular self-assembly has emerged as an attractive approach for the fabrication of new materials.This process involves the spontaneous aggregation of small molecular building blocks in solution that recognize each other through multiple of molecular self-assembly,the author carried out a study on designing basic building blocks and constructing new series of supramolecular network solids,and wishes to find some new materials with excellent properties.In this thesis,the history and the current progress had been reviewed.Based on the building blocks of sebacic acid and undecylenic acid,nine novel supramolecular compounds have been synthesized in conventional synthesis condition(Crystallization from saturated solutions).They are listed as follows:[Ni(phen)3](C10H16O 4·(C10H18O4)0.5·11H2O(1),[Zn(phen)3]2·[Zn(C10H16O4)·(H2O)3]·(C10H16O4)2·20H2O (2),[Co(phen)3]2·[Co(H2O)6]·(C10H16O4)3·30H2O(3),Co(C10H16O4)(H2O)2(4),Mn (C10H16O4)(H2O)3(5),[Ni(C10H16O4)(H2O)4]·3H2O(6),[Mn2(C10H16O4)2(phen)4(H2 O)]·5H2O(7),[Cu(C10H16O4)(phen)(H2O)]·3H2O(8),[Cd(C10H16O4)(phen)]·3H2O (9),[Cu(C11H19O2)2(phen)(H2O)4]·3H2O(10).We test and analyze the crystal structure of ten complexes.Complex 1~3 are obtained from an aqueous reaction at room temperature,and exhibits a two-dimensional supramolecular water layer morphology through dianion template.Complex 4 has three-dimensional zigzag characteristics,while complexes 5 and 6 having the same one-dimensional zigzag characteristics.Using dimetallic spacer Mn2(C10H16O4)2(Phen)4(H2O), Cu2(C10H16O4)2(phen)2(H2O)2 and Cu2(C11H19O2)4(phen)2(H2O)2 as building blocks, we have successfully synthesized three coordination polymers 7~10.Sinusoidal channels are formed among adjacent chains,and water-dimers are encapsulated in the channels of complex 7,we also found 1D water chains in complex 8 and water tetramers in complex 9.The interactions between the 6 compounds and DNA are studied by EB fluorescent probe.The results show that all complexes can insert into DNA in different degree,the binding ability of the complex 3 is the strongest,and the binding ability of the ligand is obviously enhanced after coordinating to metal,the result is probably attributed to the generation of the five-membered ring after the L- chelating to the metal ion,which increases the planarity of ligand and leads to the ligand inserting into the base pairs of the DNA easily.On the Other hand,because of the larger rigidity aromatic plane of 1,10-phenanthroline,the binding ability of the complexes containing 1,10-phenanthroline is the strongest.
