Fire is the main serious disasters in mines, which has become a direct threat to the production of mines and the lives of workers. Based on the analysis of mine fire accident statistics in China, it is concluded that human error of miners is one of the important reasons causing fire. According to the death toll statistics in the mine fire accidents from 2001 to 2007 in our country, a feasible adaptive GM(1, 1) prediction model is proposed based on the grey system theory and the tendency of fire accidents in 2008 is scientifically forecasted by means of this model. Then human error causing mine fire accidents is comprehensively discussed in detail. Through a scientific and specifical assessment of the human error causing mine fire accidents, a mine fire fuzzy-level comprehensive evaluation model is established and the influence of each sub-factor on human error is analysed. The evaluation results can be used to provide some effective prevention countermeasureas for cutting down the mine fire accidents due to human error. Then the identification and prevention measures of human error causing mine fire accidents are put forward respectively. And countermeasures against deliberate violation and organization management failure are also pointed out respectively. Furthermore, the pooling the wisdom and efforts of everyone method is introduced. Finally, the human error in a typical mine fire is evaluated practically and the identification of human error causing mine fire accidents as well as the prevention measures against mine fire accidents are ulteriorly put forward.
