This article introduced two ways of preparing polyglycerol fatty acid esters and two ways of preparing polyglycerols. The best process conditions for the synthesis of the polyglycerols and polyglycerol fatty acid esters were chosen. A series of antifogging agents based polyglycerol fatty acid esters showed a good antifogging performance. Two methods of Polyglycerol production were introduced, one was synthesised by polymerization of glycerol, another was synthesised by polymerization of glycerol and glycidol. The effect of synthetic technique of the two methods was discussed, and the optimum reaction conditions were found:(1)A new catalyst B was used in the polymerization of glycerol. The optimum conditions were : Filling with nitrogen gas , the reaction was carried on by using 5 %(w/w) B as catalyst in 240℃.(2)The appropriate reaction conditions of polymerization of glycerol with glycidol were obtained from single factor experiments: reaction was carried on by using 0.5%(w/w) boron trifluoride etherate as catalyst in -15℃, and glycidol was added by dropping for 5 hours at least. The productions were analysised by MS and HPLC.There was also two methods of Polyglycerol fatty acid esters products, one was Esterification of Polyglycerol and fatty acid esters, the other was synthesised by reaction of monoglycerides and glycidol. The effect of synthetic technique of the two methods was discussed, and the optimum reaction conditions were found .(1) The optimum conditions were obtained by single factor experiments:Filling with nitrogen gas, Esterification of Polyglycerol and fatty acid esters occured in 220℃by using 1.5 %(w/w) sodium hydroxide as catalyst.(2) The reaction of monoglycerides and glycidol also included two process: First, fatty acid reacted with glycidol to produce monoglycerides. Second, monoglycerides reacted with glycidol to produce polyglyceryl fatty acid monoesters. The optimum conditions of monoglycerides production was as follow: Reaction was carried on by using 0.5 %(w/w) sodium hydroxide as catalyst ,in 110℃for 5 hours at least with toluene as solvent. The optimum conditions that monoglycerides reacted with glycidol were obtained: reaction time 12 h, reaction temperature 115℃, 4 %(w/w)sodium carbonate as catalyst. Polyglycerol fatty acid esters and their properties were measured and characterized by MS and HPLC.A series of antifogging agents based polyglycerol fatty acid esters were prepared. The antifogging performance indexes of the contact angle and the light transmittance of the PE films contained those antifogging agents were tested and compared. The results showed that the antifogging performances of the antifogging agents composed of decaglyceryl monolaurate 0.5%, CMC 0.25% and PVA 0.05% were optimal.
