The Automatically Alpha Spectrometry Method Of Radon Progeny And Thoron Progeny Concentration In Air

The five-count method which has been used to measure Radon progeny and Thoron progeny in the Radon laboratory of NanHua university is plague and needs long term(10 hours and more).The alpha-spectrometry method needs more than tow hours with artificial operation.Using the ORTEC alpha spectroscopy workstation, the automatization of the whole measurement was achieved.For the details:Start"Job control"set for measurement;at first a series of spectrometer files were obtained and then sent to the software(written with delphi7) which will pick up and calculate the data automatically and obtain the results of radon progeny and thoron progeny concentration and its uncertainty. The whole measurement just need 17min handwork. The accuracy of this method was been verified by comparing with five-count method and three count method .
