Injection molding is an improtant process technology for the manufacturing of plastics industry. It is suitable for producing plastic products with complex shape and accurate dimensional request. In fact the transformation of plastics flux'flow from injection machine to mold cavity is plastics flux's cooling process. the transformation of mold cooling status have an important effect on the quality of product and production efficiency. Product cycle time include injection time, holding time and cooling time which account for 80 percent of the cycle time. As a result the cooling time have an effect on the product's cycle time. The production efficiency will be come down if cooling time is too long. Little cooling time will bring the product's distortion and warp and thus work on product quality. Therefore a right cooling system is necessary for the production efficiency's improvement. An reasonable cooling system can not only improve product quality but also shorten cycle time effectively and cycle time. In the past time people designed cooling system base on the experience for the reason of the equipment and machine. As a result the cycle time get longer unnecessary and various quality problem emerge. Howerever with the shorten of the mold production period and the improvement of the product quality, the past design technique already can't meet the requirement of modern mold industry. The emergence of the technology "CAE" can meet the requirement.In this thesis I use the software MPI6.1(Moldfow Plastics Insight 6.1) of CAE to optimize the design of the cooling system??tray and large-scale storing box and analyse the relation between the cooling system and cycle time. The outline of the thesis is as follows: the basic knowledge of injection mold; the useless of the software "Moldflow"; the basic knowledge of the cooling system's design and product cycle time; the cooling system analysis process with this software; the optimizing cooling analysis of the tray and large-scale storing box and analysis on the relation between cooling system and product cycle time, especially the research of the large-scale storing box. I have designed three cooling projects and selected the best one, finally the cooling system shorten the product cycle time in effect on the premise of product's improvement. the design project of the cooling system gain the favorable outcome which the product warp is reduced and the cycle time is shortened through the try-molding.This three experiments prove that the advantage of applying CAE technology is to analyse the rationality of the mold cooling system design in advance and to modifying the mould at any time, shorten the mold design period, increase production efficency and quality, reduce wasters, enhance the economic benefit and cut down cost.
