With the development of information technology, photoelectron technology and aerospace technology, the need of process which has the performance of high efficiency, high precision and low surface damage keeps increasing. The abrasive particle process includes fixed abrasive process and free abrasive process, but these methods couldn't meet above requirements. In the free abrasive process, the abrasive is free completely, and the abrasive is fixed by bond completely in the fixed abrasive process. Semi-fixed abrasive plate is proposed in this paper. The particle restriction of the Semi-fixed abrasive plate is between free completely and fixed completely. The particle of the Semi-fixed abrasive plate can adjust its place with the press to assure more abrasive particle enlisted in and lower the press on single particle. So the precision of process is preferable and the efficiency of process is high. If there is big hard particle in process, the big hard particle will embed into the Semi-fixed abrasive plate in working press. In this way, it can reduce the surface damage caused by big hard particle.First, this paper establish surface model and mechanics model above mentioned concept.then selecting certain resin bond depend on Semi-fixed abrasive plate mechanics model, the certain resin bond is called SSB bond .again, Orders to abrasive tools factory and made some SSB-1 Semi-fixed abrasive plate and made self SSB-2 Semi-fixed abrasive plate.The abrasive particle Characteristic of load-motion in Semi-fixed abrasive plate was acceptted throungh adoptting technique of nanoindentation .The result of test is that the abrasive particle moved by force. It has been analyzed that Characteristic and amount of resin fiber arounded abrasive particle and cementation between Resin fiber and abrasive particle decide on the abrasive particle Characteristic of load-motion in Semi-fixed abrasive plate surface.Then , Macro-view characteristic of Semi-fixed abrasive plate is researched: hardness, shear strength,elastic ratio,compression ratio,rebound ratio,organizations Relation of load-motion which big hard particle enbed into Semi-fixed abrasive plate. It is found that microscopic view of Characteristic decide on macrography Characteristic of Semi-fixed abrasive plate. It is analysed that macrography Characteristics can be qualitative controlled by hardness convenience.It is based experiment result that the mechanics model of Semi-fixed abrasive plate is revised. It can be well explaned on experiment result.The end, Semi-fixed abrasive plate is used in the test of silicon polishing,stainless steel process. It is found that characteristic of Semi-fixed abrasive plate and the process parameters effect on the result of process and It is realized that the process effection is more efficient and more lower degree of roughness than free abrasive process.
