Jet-ring spinning is a new method of ring spinning, which works with the cyclone installed on the traditional ring spinning frame with the use of high-speed rotation of the spinning air. In this paper, the design of the cyclone is the improvement on the nozzle of the jet-ring spinning.On the basis of a large number of pre-experiment, in this paper, the structure of the cyclone was designed and produced, and it was installed on the traditional ring spinning frame for spinning. Through determining the process of the jet-ring spinning, relevant parameters were obtained, and a perfect yarn was received after debugging the performance of spinning. Several process parameters affecting the yarn properties were identified in preliminary experiments. Researching with 28tex cotton yarn, the yarn spinning process parameters were changed for spinning, and testing the yarn hairiness, breaking strength, and the yarn unevenness were tested.In this paper, through the single-factor analysis, the production process parameters of the yarn were made an analysis of the surface hairiness respectively. At the same time, this study used the orthogonal method to optimize process parameters. The performance status of the yarn was understood, as well as provided the basis for the design of the optimization.The cyclone has the advantages of simple structure and low cost; spinning with the cyclone can reduce the yarn surface hairiness longer than 3mm, raise yarn breaking strength and lower the rate of yarn unevenness; results showed that the optimal of the four cyclone spinning factors were 90°, 0.25MPa, 6.5cm, 330, 9000rpm.Moreover,through the comparison between the traditional ring spinning yarn and the spinning yarn using this method, hairiness reduction amounted to 97%, breaking strength increased by 9%, unevenness reduced by 6%; Through the simple simulation for the air in the cyclone, from the point of view of fluid mechanics, the fact that spinning with the cyclone can reduce the yarn hairinessand improve the yarn performance was proved.
