Luminescent grade strontium carbonate is the Primary starting material for earth-doped long afterglow luminescence material and it contains 99.5% of strontium carbonate.After long research and production,we have found that the luminescent performance of long afterglow luminescence material could be influenced remarkably by purity,distirbution of particle size and micro-morpholog of strontium carbonate.How to prepare the right purity,distirbution of particle size and micro-morpholog of strontium carbonate for the long after luminescence materials at a low cost in the industrial production becomes a new problem .There are many studys about the purity of strontium carbonate in the industy ,but the research about the distirbution of particle size and micro-morpholog of strontium carbonate is in the experimental stage. The preparation of the distirbution of particle size and micro-morpholog of strontium carbonate can't be effectively controled in the industrial production. In order to effectively control the distirbution of particle size of strontium carbonate, a pipe-precipitation reactor is created after a lot of laboratory research.Many experiments prove that strontium carbonate with narrow size distribution can be obtained by using pipe-precipitation reactor. This reactor Pipe-Precipitation is simple and convenient in the industy production.At the same time, strontium carbonate of different shape can be obtained by using the different reactants with pipe-precipitation reactor. By changing the concentration of reactant,the temperature,the time and pH value of reaction, et.al, particle size of strontium carbonate ranging from 0.95μm to 10μm can be obtained.SrAl2O4:Eu2+,Dy3+ long afterglow materials were prepared by soild-state reaction method.The micro-morphology,particle distribution and the effect of particle size on the appilcation of SrAl2O4:Eu2+,Dy3+ long afterglow luminescent material discussed with emphasis.The result of experiments show that spheroidal strontium carbonate with narrow size which average particle size is about 0.95μm is good for the luminescent performance of long afterglow luminescence material.
