The major part of this article has designed one kind of minimized primary explosive. The minimized primary explosive involves studies of synthetic method, the technological conditions and the initiation performance. It can reduce the DDNP weight in the industrial detonator. It has estimated detonation parameters, such as detonation temperature, explosion heat and so on.DDNP has been widely used industry detonator in our country because of good initiation performance. However, the mass wastewater of DDNP polluted environment. It is difficult to achieve the emission standards. Therefore, the wastewater treatment of DDNP became difficult problem of the environmental protection. DDNP-based minimized primary explosives are discussed and synthesized to add different quality the mixtures of RDX or PETN during the synthesis process of DDNP. The purpose is to reduce wastewater pollution by reducing Charge Weight of commercial detonator correspondingly. The high explosive coated with DDNP by using additive and optimal synthesis technological parameters such as solution reaction temperature, PH value, stirring speed and reaction time in order to improve their physicochemical properties and the initiation performance. The good performance minimized primary explosive could be acquired to optimize the several synthesis ways. The detonator can be realized combustion to transfer the detonation to utilize the micro detonation mechanism by mixture of primary explosive and high explosive.The characterization of minimized primary explosive is researched by microphotography method. The initiation performance minimized primary explosive is measured by lead plate test, 5 second delay time test and underwater explosion test in experiment. The result of the tests showed that the content of PETN reaches as high as 45%, but RDX can only achieve 35% in the minimized primary explosive when the lead plate test is qualified. This indicated that PETN in the minimized primary explosive is better effect than RDX. 5 second delay time test of minimized primary explosive is 180.4℃and the activation energy is 100.2kJ/mol when the RDX content is 25%. The underwater explosive experiment shows that the initialing capacity of minimized primary explosive better than pure DDNP.
