Practical And Experimental In Domestic "Academic" Fashion Design

With the development of the domestic costume design education, college of professional education has become an important link between design talent connected and garment industry. The training of costume design talents has given the development of China's garment industry sustainable vitality. The graduate of costume design majors will be the domestic backbone in the future development of China's garment area. Therefore, "academic" design education will play a key role in supplying high-quality talent to the industry. As the costume design is a multi-disciplinary field of disciplines, the diversity of its own creates content the inherent complexity. And the arts, industry and other institutions of different disciplines have the capability to carry out the costume design education with different resources. In this paper, domestic status of the current design education, based on my academic research paper dedicatedto costume design and practicality in experimental models to explore two kinds of styles --experimental design style, take the Fashion Design discipline of China Central Academy of Fine Arts for example, which emphasize forward-looking art aesthetic of fashion design. Practical style, take the Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology for example, which emphasized the combination of art and engineering . This paper is trying to grasp the teaching style of two colleges by the analysis of the graduate works , and looking to the future development and the trend for the fashion design teaching in costume design education. Hoping to play a guiding role in curriculum and positioning of "academic" design talents education.
