With the rapid development of the national economy, each industrial country has sought to build heavy plate mill in order to meet the needs of national economic development. Therefore, based on the analysis of the heavy plate rolling, it is of much importance to establish a series of finite element model for heavy plate rolling. At the same time, it is also of much importance in theory and practical application value to investigate the roll system deformation of heavy plate rolling.Based on the given parameters of the 4100 mm heavy plate mill, this paper has established the coupled thermo-mechanical models of heavy plate rolling process, the models of channeling work roll, the roll-shaped curve optimization models and so on. It makes numerical simulation of the heavy plate rolling process, by using finite element Marc software. Analyzed the influential principle of the contact stress, the roll shape, the roll system bending deformation of rolls from different rolling conditions when using flat-roll; analyzed the influential law of channeling work roll, bending-roll force, the roll profile; optimized and analyzed the roll-shape curve. According to the given actual data of the 4300 mm heavy plate mill, verifies the correctness of finite element model of 4100 mm heavy plate mill. The study has important guiding significance to finite element model of the heavy plate rolling process and the actual production process optimization.This paper has lucubrated work roll thermal behavior of heavy plate rolling, by utilizing MATLAB language program. It solves the issue of roll thermal crown, and obtains the thermal deformation distribution curve of work roll surface under different width conditions.Through establishing heavy plate rolling finite element model in different rolling conditions, it finds out the modeling process is the same. Therefore, based on the Visual Basic 6.0 platform, this paper makes the second development of finite element Marc software, it has achieved a rapid modeling and simulation functions. Analyses of simulation results verify the correctness of the simulation system.
