Medium heavy steel plate is an important steel variety, generally accounted for about10percent of total output of steel. Plate products which are widely used in infrastructureconstruction, shipbuilding, engineering machinery, container, energy, construction andother industries, play an important role in the national economy.The roll’s thermal crown is an important influence factor for the strip profile. Withthe development of the strip shape control technology, it is more significant to research onroll thermal deformation as one of hot rolling strip shape control system. According toheat transfer theory and based on overall analysis of the roll’s quantity of heat transfer,mathematical equations of the coefficient of heat conduction in the roll have been deduced.The roll two-dimension unsteady state’s temperature fields, originated from the energyconservation law and equations of heat conduction and work roll’s thermal crown, havebeen established. And the program of off-line simulation for roll thermal crown has beendeveloped. Using the simulation program, the influencing factors of work-roll’s thermaldeformation have been analyzed and some coherent conclusions have been drawn.Roll wear on plate and strip rolling mills is one of the factors that are difficult to beaccurately controlled in the rolling process. The roll wear destroys original roll shape anddirectly make against the precise control for flatness and profile of plate and strip. Inaddition, roll wear greatly increases the wastage of rolling rolls. In the domain of mediumand heavy plate production, roll wear and its mathematic model of plate rolling mills isone of the problems that are urgent to be researched. This dissertation elaborated themechanism and characteristic of roll wear and make analysis of the modality and influencefactors of roll wear, and the characteristics of rolling technical and roll wear of platerolling mills were summarized. With consideration of the influence factors, the roll wearmodel of plate rolling mills was founded. This model start off from the tribology principle.
