The paper researched for two adsorbents situation in the atmosphere of vinyl acetate, to provide theoretical support and technical guidance for the adsorption to deal with volatile organic compounds in the atmosphere.Select the activated carbon modified by silane coupling agent KH570 and macroporous resin D101 as adsorption material to compare their adsorption properties. Modification of activated carbon showed:extension of modification time, an appropriate rise of the modification temperature, moderate hydrolysis ratio, and acid modification environment were beneficial for the adsorption of modified activated carbon. Orthogonal experimental results showed that when the coupling agent KH570:CH3CH2OH:H2O was 1:10:1, the modification time was 4h, modification temperature was 60℃, pH was 5, the modified activated carbon possessed the largest adsorption capacity of vinyl acetate as 169.8mg/g. The importance of modification factors for the vinyl acetate adsorption of activated carbon is in the following sequence:pH value> temperature> hydrolyzate ratio> modification time. The effect of time and temperature on the adsorption were detected. Experiments show that the modified activated carbon reached the highest adsorption rate within 4h, the adsorption capacity accounted for more than 95% of the saturated adsorption capacity.4h later the adsorption rate slowed down. D101 macroporous resin reached the highest adsorption rate within 5h. from 5 to 7h the adsorption rate slowed down signifycantly, both reached the adsorption equilibrium after 8h. Studies have shown that the absorption capacity of activated carbon material, modified activated carbon and macroporous resin D101 increases with the decline of temperature, the sequence of decline rat-e is:D101 macroporous resin> Material Carbon> modified activated carbon. The mechanism and characterization of the process of activated carbon Modification was analyzed, the infrared spectra showed that the reaction between activated carbon and coupling agent KH570 occurred, the 2-ATRP propyl successfully connected to the surface, modification mechanism analysis and SEM scanning Figure shows the measured experimental results complied with the theoretical analysis. SEM scaning of D101 macroporous resin showed that their excellent adsorption properties of vinyl acetate in gas phase was closely related to the rich pore structure.
