The Network Platform Of National Food Contaminants Monitoring

In recent years,the hazards and the impact caused by food safety incidents have been a real substantial public health and social problems,being intensively concerned by governments and publics.The food safety incidents caused by chemical contaminants have happened one after another,from dioxin to "melamine" in milk powder,which describes the necessity of the food contaminants monitoring.In the early 1980th,China had participated GEMS/Food organizations to carry out some related contaminants monitoring.In 2000,China launched the national food contaminants monitoring program. By now,the monitoring has covered 16 provinces and accumulated a total of 600,000 data.However,there are not a database and network platform to be responsible for data collection and management.It is necessary and immediate to establish the network platform of the national food contaminants monitoring in view of the deep need of the work and the rapid development of food information.The platform will improve the work efficiency and the rate of data reporting in real-time,and can offer some other functions:on-line browse and statistics,meanwhile,it would be benefit for the data exchange and integration and make the monitoring information more electronic and standardaring.All that contributed to the further development of the monitoring. The study aimed to establish the network platform of food contamination monitoring with the advanced computer and internet technologies and taking account of work characteristics and requirements.A series of studies as follow:study on the international food contaminants monitoring system;set up the standardizing dictionary;integrate the modular functions;set up the permission of the role of users and so on.Through those steps,a data management system with all functions of data entry,browse and statistics would be established;the platform would be nationally promoted in practice.The study focused on:1) Compared and analyzed the international monitoring system to find out the distance and difference between other nations and China,and contributed the useful information to the establishment of network platform.2) Draft out the standardizing data dictionary which should be in line with international classification and coding system and be adapt of requirement of China food contaminants monitoring.3) Build up the well-designed network platform,focused on the functions and management system. The monitoring network platform can effectively collect the data from each monitoring points to form the functions as centralized storage and unified performance,which provided the sound base for complex database to data mining as well as allowed the decision-maker timely and accurately grasp the national contaminants status to make a reasonable risk assessment,for taking the measures and formulating the food hygiene standards,and then would provide technological supports and be benefit for us to participate the CAC standards.By participating actively to formulate the law and regulation of international trade,to protect the profit and right of food trade.
