Water Environment Monitoring is an important means for water resource management and protection, China's lack of water resources, there is serious water pollution phenomena in China. find an efficient, real-time way to access to water environment parameters, research and development of new methods of environmental monitoring of water has become an important task of water environment management and protection. In this paper, funded by the State 973 Project, serious study the status quo of related technology development at home and abroad, put forward a design program of wireless sensor network (hereinafter referred to as WSN) gateway and interactive systems used for water environment monitoring, which can be applied to remote sensing data transmission, with the features of high efficiency, stable and reliable.After the consideration of performance, power-comsumption and cost, this paper gives the system hardware and software design of embedded WSN gateway. The hardware design of embedded WSN gateway is achieved by employing the popular ARM core microprocessor chip LPC2106, GPRS module MC39i and other external circuitry. The system software platform is consisting of Real-Time Operation SystemμC/OS-II, TCP/IP stack LwIP. Design multi-task division method and a specific implementation, the use of GPRS module ensure the reliable transmission of data, as well as link maintenance, Energy-saving sleep and other functions.Aimed at the features that the high sudden of data, instability of traffic, single packet with small amount of data in wireless sensor networks. Taking full consideration of the bandwidth of wireless network, we designed a Transport Control Protocol (TCP) with an improved Nagle algorithm. Examination validated that the algorithm obviously improved the utilization of wireless channel and reduced system energy consumption.Finally, the paper describes the implementation of water environment monitoring interaction system, which is designed by using VC6.0. The whole system working together through the network communications, data analysis, interface module to achieve real-time display of remote WSN information. System uses ADO to achieve the construction of database-related modules. These modules facilitate the maintenance of the data and increase the security of the system at the same time.
