The Preparation And Properties Study Of The Auto Water-based Metallic Paint

Metallic water-based paint is a new type of environmentally friendly coatings. Because of its extraordinary decorative effect, it has attracted people's attention. To the development of automotive topcoat ,the use of the metallic water-based paint is an inevitable trend.This thesis deals with the preparation and properties of a water-based automotive metallic topcoat. The production preparated in this paper use acrylic resin as the main film-forming matrix, and use non-floating-type water-based aluminum powder as a physical pigment constitution. I have introduced the acetoacetate side groups into the polymer molecular chains to reduce the settlement of the metal particles in the coating. And I joined the acrylic microgel core-shell emulsion into the system. It will Improve the stability and the performance of the coating system.In this thesisr there were mainly a bit of works what I have done:I have designed and synthesized a water-soluble acrylic resin with a chelating group .By the performance testing,it is proved that the introduction of the acetoacetate-based into the polymer molecular chains, can reduce the viscosity of the resin, and increase the water-solubility of the resin.I have designed and synthesized a acrylic micro-emulsion-gel with core-shell structure ,and I have determined the best ratio of various raw materials, and the properties of emulsion were studied.I prepared a water-borne Metallic paint, and its properties were studied . It is proved that the introduction of acetyl acid side groups and accession of the micro-emulsion gels can indeed reduce the particle sedimentation and improve stability of the coating.
