Most fiber companies adopt the method of transforming the shapes and different sections of fiber to develop new synthetic products. And the most influential method is to change the shapes of the fine denier and the extra fine denier. And being the indispensable subtle part of spinning machine, the function of spinneret is to squeeze the precisely calculated spinning solution through the tiny hole in the spinneret to produce the fine fiber bundles of a certain thickness. The quality of the spinneret is the important factor of assuring the quality of the fiber products and the fine spinning craft. Usually after a long-time use, the holes of the spinneret are blocked by the sticking monomer and sublimated objects. In the spinning producing process of high speed, whether the spinneret is clear has a great influence on the quality of the products. Even the tiny impurities left in the hole of spinneret would affect the quality of the products, which is most obvious in the production of nonwovens. Therefore the qualified examination of the spinneret hole has the key guaranteed function.The examining system of machine vision is a new type of examining technology, which has the advantages of high examining efficiency, high speed, high precision, low cost, rich information and being easy to operate. Using it in the field of chemical fiber examination can efficiently avoid the deficiency of manual examination, and promote the automatic degree, production efficiency and production quality in the chemical fiber factory. The single-hole location of the spinneret and the defect-examining system designed in this paper belongs to the examining system of machine vision. Its design and use can efficiently promote the examining precision and working efficiency of the spinneret holes and will has the important practical value in industrial production.This paper introduces in detail the single-hole location of the spinneret and the defect-examining system, and carefully discusses the systematic location and defect-examining measurement. This system is mainly composed of the mechanical hole-positioning system, optical imaging system, and image processing system. The general process of the examination of the defect in spinneret holes of this system is below:Situated the spinneret in the plate, the optical imaging system firstly locates the spinning nozzle that penetrates through the light, directly modulates the images and situates the effective images in the center of the lens vision to wait for the further processing; the gathered images are form-converted, highlighted, edge-detection processed, threshold segmented, edge-refined and Hough transformed, and then transformed into the image information that is easy to process in the PC; the image processing system analyzes the blocking situation of the spinneret holes and records the statistic information; from the former input type information of the spinneret in the database,the positioning system can calculate the coordinate of the spinneret hole, and based on the coordinate, it situates the next hole in the imaging lens and repeats the above process of image position, modulation, gathering and processing, until the system scans all of the spinneret holes of this type; finally the system will show the examining result of this spinneret, such as the number of blocked holes and the blocking situations, etc. And the calculating methods of hardware positioning system, image analysis-process system are also discussed in detail in this paper.This paper will do these things below:1. It introduces the importance of spinneret in the industry of synthetic fiber, talks about the important meaning of the defect-examination of spinneret holes; it summarizes the research progress of the spinneret defect-examination and lists the wide application of machine vision in the technology of defect-examination of spinneret holes. Using this technology, this paper puts forward the feasible solutions in the spinneret hole location and defect-examination.2. Based on the practical needs, the paper discusses the basic principle of the system of the spinneret hole location and defect-examination; then considering the research goal and the actual market condition, the paper illustrates the hardware construction of the system and the parametric data of every hardware part; the paper draws the chart of the hardware construction, explains the operative process of the hardware and introduces the software construction, the developing circumstance of the software, the software systematic module and the human-computer interaction page.3. The paper introduces in detail the composition of spinneret hole location and defect-examination system, among which there are the designing principle of the light source system, the imaging principle of the optical lens, the basic principle and introduction of CCD, working principle of the image-collection card, controlling system of single-chip microcomputer, working principle and features of stepping motor and the design of communicative interface of MCU and pc. The paper analyzes the reason of choosing the above devices and lists their characteristic parameters in detail.4. The paper talks about the method of image-collection of the spinneret hole. It firstly introduces the working principle of the optical imaging system, and discusses the modulation design in the system of spinneret hole location, which are composed of coordinate transformation and the method of calculating the modulations. This modulation system will do the spinneret hole location and gather the spinneret hole image with the optical imaging system.5. The paper discusses the calculation method of image processing of spinneret hole and defect-examination.①Firstly, the form of the gathered spinneret hole image is transformed to wait for the further gray-scale transformation. Then the gathered image is dealt with the process of gray-scale transformation. The paper introduces the calculation method of the gray-scale transformation.②Then the image is highlighted for the convenience of computer processing.③The paper talks about the concept of edge-detection in detail. The technology of edge-detection is the basis of the imaging analysis of image-segmentation,recognition of the target region,the extract of the region shape. The paper introduces in detail the traditional edge-detection operator such as Robert edge-detection operator,Sobel edge operator,Prewitt edge operator,LOG operator; There are also the best edge-detection operator-Canny operator and its specific calculation method. The paper also gives some introduction of other main calculation method. ④The paper lists the results of the experiment, which are the usual calculation method of edge-detection for the spinneret hole image. From this, the paper defines Sobel operator as the calculation method of this system.⑤The paper introduces the concept of threshold-segmentation and its specific methods, such as the method of twin peaks, iteration, minimum flaw probability, etc. And the paper also gives an tentative analysis of the segmental results of the image.⑥It introduces the concept of edge-refinement and various methods of refinement calculation.⑦The paper discusses in detail the calculation method of defect-examination. We firstly put the image in the Hough transformation, and examine the circle with the Hough calculation; we then recognize the circle in the image from its geometric characteristics; finally we calculate the block situation of the spinneret hole in the image.6. At last the paper gives the examination report of the spinneret hole location and defect-detection system. And it puts forward some directions of improving the system.
