The synthesis and application of nano-scale TiO2 attract interest in materials research. And the nano-scale TiO2 can be used widely in many fields such as photocatalst,sterilization,environment et al. Because ultrafine TiO2 is strong polarity material, the nanm-scale TiO2 can not be dispersed in non-polarity solvent well and is easy to agglomerate in the polarity solvent. In order to improve the dispersity in the polarity or non-polarity solvent ,surface treatment of ultrafine titania is necessarily so that it can widen the application fields.In the paper, Nano- TiO2 was synthesized through the sol-gel technique which was simple and green,and Laser Particle Size Analysis,XRD,IR,TG,SEM were used to characterize the properties of the as-synthesized samples. Well-dispersed nano-sized TiO2 slurry in water medium with high concentration was prepared through the coordination action using silane coupling agent and multi-hydroxy compound. And we discuss the application property on textiles.The main research work and results are as follows:(1) The precursor of nanometer TiO2 is synthesized with low-temperature of liquid process,and process was optimized by using tetra-butyl titanate and paraffin as the raw materials , and by changing the conditions such as raw material ratio , reaction temperature. Anatase,rutile and mixed nano- TiO2 were synthesized by changing the curing temperature.(2) Nano-sized TiO2 was modified by the high energy ball milling, using silane coupling agent with multi-hydroxy compound as bridge group. The modification process was optimized by changing the types of silane couple agent,the content of silane couple agent,the pH value of dispersion, the time of milling. Well-dispersed nano-sized TiO2 slurry in water medium with high concentration was prepared through the coordination action using silane coupling agent and multi-hydroxy compound. The coordination action and mechanism was discussed by characterizing the microstructure of the modified TiO2.(3) The cotton textile treated by modified nano-TiO2 slurry shows substantial anti-UV properties When the optimum finishing technology condition is carried out as following: nano-TiO2(Rutile) content 4 g/L , dipping temperature 60℃, baking temperature 150℃. The UPF value of cotton textile is 60.04 and strong washing fastness is also obtained.(4) The silk textile treated by modified nano-TiO2 slurry shows substantial anti-UV properties When the optimum finishing technology condition is carried out as following: pH 7, nano-TiO2 content 6 g/L , dipping time 50min, baking temperature 140℃. The UPF value of silk textile is 66.21 and strong washing fastness is also obtained.In the paper, the precursor of nanometer TiO2 is synthesized with paraffin as dispersant for the first time.The technology is a simplification of multi-procedures,such as traditional preparation,aging,drying,calcinating processes and rubbing. Well-dispersed nano-sized TiO2 slurry in water medium with high concentration was prepared through the coordination action using silane coupling agent and multi-hydroxy compound.The process will provide a reference for other nanoparticles.
