As you know, it is bad for your body to receive much ultraviolet ray. Much ultraviolet radiation do damage to skin, even lead to cancer of skin. In recent years, the ozone layer is damaged and it becomes thiner and thiner. There are two huge holes on both poles. The ozone layer over our country is also obviously becoming thinner and thinner. As a result, cotton fabrics need the anti-ultraviolet functional finishing. Anti-uv properties of nanometer TiO2 on the treated cotton fabrics is studied in this paper.The major work includes the following aspects:(1) Nanometer TiO2 is prepared with sol-gel process ,and process was optimized by using tetra-butyl titanate and ethanol as the raw materials, and by changing the conditions sush as raw material ratio , pH value and reaction temp. The curing temperature is related to crystalline phase through XRD technique.(2) Nanometer TiO2 is modified with physical process as nano-ZnO and Al2O3, organic process as anion, cation, non-ionic, zwitterion surfactant. The influences on surface modification of dispersion properties and absorbance of ultraviolet ray is studied. Research cotton fabrics via the anti-ultraviolet finishing by the two types surfactant. We find that the surface modification with cetyl three methyl amine bromide and IW surfactant of nano—ZnO/TiO2 has excellent anti-ultraviolet properties.(3) White and colour Cotton fabrics of anti-ultraviolet finishing. The concentration of finishing agent , bonding agent and the curing temperature and time has influence on the whiteness value the draw strength and the transmission percentage of ultraviolet ray of the treated cotton fabrics .And the washing—resistant of the treated cotton fabrics is studed to find the excellent finishing art.
