The CAD/CAM software is widely used in the manufacturing sector. The CNC machining of applied research by using the CAD/CAM software has important practical significance in achieving high-quality and high efficiency of NC machining and improving the productive efficiency and competitiveness of enterprise. The main works are summarized as follows: 1) I will master the use of three kinds of the CAD/CAM software, which are CAXA, Cimatron and Type3, and familiar with operational processes of vertical machining center so as to operate it when I will carry out the actual machining. 2) NC code has been automatically generated by use of the CAD/CAM software, after some operations, such as reasonably select the processing line, rough shape, cutting tools and machining parameters, have accomplished according to parts` shapes. 3) NC code has been transmitted to the vertical machining centers in the actual processing so as to get the entity. Based on the contents of study, it sums up its advantages, disadvantages and applicability of three kinds of software, and provides the basis and reference of choosing to use the software for enterprises and NC machining practitioners.
