With the rapid development of nanotechnology, the applications of nano-materials are becoming more widespread,meanwhile, bio-safety issues of nano-materials have been increasingly attracted wide attention from scientists around the world. This paper mainly studies the impact of ZnO nano-particles and ZnSe nano-particles on freshwater algae plant - spirogyra.We make the ZnO nanoparticles and ZnSe nanoparticles with the sol-gel. Adding deionized water to make different concentrations of ZnO and ZnSe nanoparticles, ultrasounding for half hour and then putting spirogyra in them. Special emphasis is that ,the solution of ZnSe nanoparticles must be sealed and dark treatment after preparation. The purpose is to prevent the degeneration of ZnSe nanoparticles solution. The results showed that spirogyra cultured in aqueous solution of ZnO nanoparticles, their morphology and cell structures are impacted to a certain extent, mainly take on surface depression, broken pieces and the raw chloroplast structure was severely damaged within spirogyra.under the fluorescence microscopy ,we can observe the red fluorescence of chloroplasts, and light green fluorescence near the cell wall. The spirogyra cultured in aqueous solution of ZnSe nanoparticles, In the short time ,we do not find any significant changes,only under the high concentration and long time ,we can observe the form of Spirogyra has become adhesions together from good dispersion in solution.The ribbon chloroplasts inside the cell has become floc.And with the time and concentration increasing,the damage of Spirogyra will be worse. As a contrast, putting some spirogyra in deionized water and different concentration of ZnSO4 solution. The results showed that morphology and cell structures of spirogyras cultured in deionized water are well,no damaged.After treated by acetic acid,in the cells we do not find green fluorescence.The spirogyra takes on different degreen of damage cultured in the ZnSO4 solution,after treated by acetic acid, the cell wall and chloroplast are also did not take on fluorescence.
