The impeller-type part is important part in the industry of machinery and equipment, and widely used in energy and power, aerospace, petrochemical, metallurgy and other fields. Many disciplines are involved in the modeling of impeller, such as Aerodynamics, Hydrodynamics. The processing method, processing precision and surface quality of the impeller have a great influence on the final performance parameters.With the development of the NC and CAM technology, the impeller machining technology has been making continuous progress.In order to improve the level of production of the impeller-type parts, In this paper which unifies the specific production conditions of enterprises five-axis of NC machining technology of the impeller is undertaken the study.The integral five-axis NC machining impeller post-processing, processing simulation and optimization is taken as the core content and the extension content is combined in CNC machining process, such as technics, UG/CAM and so on. Besides, a comprehensive study on the five-axis CNC machining of the integral impeller is made in this paper.In this paper, the processing technology of impeller is researched, the difficult and technical requirements of processing technology are analysed, a process planning of impeller machining which includes the division of processing stages, the choice of blank, tool fixture and so on is put forward.The characteristics of impeller in various processing are analysed and different processing methods to program are used, then tool path files are received in the UG/CAM platforms.For the actual processing of DMU100 monoBLOCK five-axis CNC machine tools, the post-processing of UG NX/Post Builder is used to create a special post-processing and then the tool path files are transformsed into NC code in this paper.In this paper, a virtual machine DMU100 monoBLOCK, tool library and processing procedures are set up in VERICUT system, machining process simulation module is used for dynamic simulation demo and the processing quality inspection and tool path of the parts in the system is optimized, then a complete virtual processing is achieved.In addition, a theoretical study is verified in the paper through experiments. Then the results of actual maching processing and simulation in VERICUT simulation system are compared.
