Wire rope flexible rod is mainly constituted by the traction belt (or chain), sealed pump, elastic rod, add pole, trolley, plunger and other components. For flexible rod structure of the wire rope and working conditions,the paper establishes the model of nonlinear transient dynamics of a flexible cable and the elastic rod,the model processes steel wire rope into the flexible cable structures which subject only to pull and are described in detail with unit LINK10,relationship between the plunger movement and resistance load is described in detail with the combined unit COMBIN40. Taking into account dynamic analysis of flexible rod, we propose the design criteria of wire rope sucker rod,that is, strength criteria, vibration criteria,criteria for the down stroke resistance, flushing plunger thrust guidelines, and obtain the calculation method and the criterions.Through analysising impact the the wire rod and process parameters on the pump stroke,showing that the elastic modulus of wire rope should be controled over 80GPa, stroke stroke choices 2m3m and 1min-13min-1, increased rod choose 38m47m (weight 335kg415kg), these parameters provide an important basis for the design and application of flexible wire rope sucker rod.The wire rope sucker rod dynamics calculations of the field 5 wells show that the theoretical value of the suspension point load and test results are consistent,the relative error of static load of suspension point is less than 5%,the relative error of the maximum and minimum load of the suspension point is less than 10%, theoretical results can simulate the actual running state of suspended better.Steel wire rope have flexible effects,plunger relative to the suspension point,the up and down stroke is a delay,this will help increasing of the plunger stroke.Under the vertical wells condition,rod basically no contact with the tubing wall collision.The maximum axial force of steel wire rope is 10.2kN,and much less than the maximum load of steel wire rope,the static strength of wire rope can meet the requirements of oil operations.The up stroke resistance on behalf of the pump barrel increases in the numerical, plunger stroke increases gradually ,the pump efficiency has been improving,the down stroke resistance on behalf of the pump barrel increases,plunger stroke decreases gradually ,the pump efficiency reduce continuously, we suggeste that the steel wire rope can be uesd on the wells when the fluid level is small relatively and the viscosity low relatively ,the ultra-stroke effect is better.
