Motion controller is a control device object, which central logic unit is core, sensor is signal sensitive element, motor/power unit is implementation unit. Motion control technology is the core of numerical control technology. As the development of electronic technology, computer technology, sensor technology, control technology and market demand, intelligent, open, network, maintenance and convenient motion controller has been the one direction of motion controller development.In this thesis, based on the needs of four-axis engraving machining center motion control system, investigating the motion controller's development at home and abroad, according to the market mainstream motion controller's features, borrowing advanced motion controller's advantages, we propose a new solutions which based on DSP and FPGA. DSP is used for data-processing core, that DSP has powerful data-processing capabilities and programming flexibility, rich modules in chip, mature development environment for open and easy maintenance. By the FPGA technology, hardware circuit can be achieved through software. So, the circuit design are simpler, lower cost and more convenient for circuit modification. This paper designed a new four-axis motion controller, which is powerful, open, independent, universal good, and can work independently. This new controller can work independent also can work with the PC---formed the "PC+Motion Controller "system. This controller is flexible.This paper introduces the home and abroad development of CNC technology. Investigating the development of motion controller and the solution of mainstream motion controller, we proposed this paper's solution, which is based on DSP and FPGA. According to the motion control solution, we designed the motion controller hardware system, Include the controller chips configuration circuit, the encoder feedback signal processing circuit, input/ output signal interface circuits and communication interface, especially designed the network communication interface,, tested and validated the network communication interface.Secondly, study of the CNC interpolation algorithm, contrasted with several major numerical interpolation algorithm scheme, we use digital integration algorithm method, and design the interpolation process for digital integration interpolation method. Design the fixed point and floating-point conversion process for fixed-point type DSP, completion floating operation of fixed-point type DSP.Finally, we designed PC-side program, completed signal detection and reappearance. The reliability of the system has been validated.
