Nano-sized mesoporous materials have attracted great interest since ordered mesoporous materials have been synthersized by scienteists of Mobile for the first time in 1992. New nano-sized mesoporous materials are being synthesized due to its special optical, electrical, magnetic and catalytic properties. The field has been expanded from silicon-based materials to non-silicon-based materials for enriched nanotechnology..Due to its unique structures and properties, nano-sized mesoporous phosphate and hollow spheres of oxides has broad application prospects in the fields of electronics, optics, catalysis, biotechnology and composite materials. At present, mesoporous phosphate and hollow spheres of oxides are synthesized by using of chemical surfactants as templates, which has made considerable progress. However, the oxicity, volatility and environmental pollution of chemical surfactants can not be ignored easily. With the rise of "green revolution", it is necessary to explore a cheap, environmentally friendly and simple method for the preparation of nano-sized mesoporous phosphate and hollow spheres. Therefore, this paper prepared mesoporous nano-phosphate and hollow spheres of oxides under different synthesis conditions by using micro-organism-yeast as a template. The mechanism of biomineralization is also briefly discussed. Our work includes the followings:(1) Biomimetic synthesis of zirconium phosphate nanocomposite with multimorphology via hydrothermal method and its fluorescence(2) Biomimetic synthesis, possible synthesis mechanism and electrochemical property of mesoporous zirconium phosphate(3) Biomimetic synthesis and antibacterial property of copper phosphate nanobelts(4) Biomimetic synthesis, fluorescence and hydrophobic properties of cuprous oxide hollow spheres(5) Study of photocatalytic degradation of methyl orange using cuprous oxide hollow spheresThe results show that yeast cells can be used as an efficient template for preparation of nano-inorganic mesoporous materials and oxide hollow spheres. Nano-sized mesoporous material synthesized using yeast as a template has a fluorescent performance and efficient electro-catalytic properties, which has important applications in optical, electrical and other fields.
