Virtual NCmachining technology is an important research direction in virtual manufacturing field, which the 3d machine modeling is the basis of it. NC program can be checked in computer based on the simulation of no machining process, to solve the practical problems encountered in the process, thus substituting or reducing the actual try cutting jobs, it can effectively reduce the product manufacturing cost and improve product quality. The paper using the RQQ twin-cutter machine which used SINUMERIK840D NC system as the research object, based on two axis machining technology.First,the paper used UG NX4.0 to establish the machine components and fixture,cutting tool and workpiece model, And then ,converting the numerical code based on the VERICUT software's feature of reading characters and word - address format. Finally, Using VERICUT software completed the lathe assembly and the numerical control turning processing simulation. The paper discussed the problems and solving methods in establishing a lathe model and the NC turning processing simulation process.The main contents include:(1)Introducing the project background, the meaning of researching the NC machining simulation.(2)Introducing and researching for VERICUT6.0 Systematic.(3)Using UG modeling.Descriping the methods and processes of modeling detailed, introduced the problems and solutions during the process of modeling.VERICUT6.0 were mainly introduced, include the lathe assembly and CNC lathe machining simulation, and analyzing the process of simulation, solving the problems appeared in the simulation.
