Coal mines will turn to deep-seated mineral deposits after shallow mining. There are problems of high temperature due to geothermy, air compression heat, oxidation heat and equipment heat in mines. How to deal with the high-temperature problem effectively has become an important topic that needs study immediately. Based on the existing state of coal mines in the South, especially according to the high temperature in deep faces in Shaowu coal mine, the method of ventilation has been proposed to solve the problem of high temperature in this thesis.The ventilation system in Shaowu coal mine is investigated and the performance of ventilation fans is tested, and the primal problems of the ventilation system are analyzed by computer simulation. Then the thermal environment parameters of draft are measured from the shaft to faces of blind workings, and the variation law of draft dry-bulb temperature, enthalpy, moisture content and relative humidity is discussed. By the mean of measuring well rock physical parameters, using local meteorological data and the result of mine geological exploration and quantifying heat sources in the mine, the following conclusions, which are critical to further steps, are reached:○1 the depth of the zone of constant temperature is 34m, and the temperature of the zone of constant temperature is 20.8℃;○2 the geothermal gradient in this area is 2.41℃/100m;○3 Shaowu coal mine is a intermediate temperature coal mine;○4 the primary heat sources in Shaowu coal mine are equipments and oxidation heat.Based on the thermal comfort equation in mine working faces, which has been established after analyzing the heat exchange between human and environment and overall consideration of temperature, humidity, drafty velocity and thermal radiation, the figure of thermal comfort in mine working faces, which is composed of 11 curves of draft velocity-temperature is drawn. The combination of temperature, humidity and drafty velocity that shows thermal comfort conditions in mine working faces has been provided. This can be used to estimate the degree of comfort in working faces objectively, also can be used as a standard to identify whether the air-cooling measures are effective and a tool to decide the draft velocity in working faces.By forecasting the temperature of a shaft station and a blind face in Shaowu coal mine, the amount of input air in high-temperature faces of blind workings is calculated. According to the figure of thermal comfort in mine working faces, the thermal parameters in the faces of blind workings are presented. Then, considering the coal mine's exploitation planning, a proper ventilation fan is proposed, and the ventilation system is optimized to guarantee sufficient flash air supply. Furthermore, the method of dual air pipes in the faces of blind workings is put forward to improve the thermal environment in both the end of the faces and the whole tunnel simultaneously.The thesis provides a path for heat control in mines. It has great significance on the utilization of ventilation to cooling air for intermediate and small coal mines in the southeast of china.
