Mercury as a global pollutant has drawn greater attention, when agricultural and sideline aquatic products have a high mercury content, the mercury in agricultural and sideline aquatic products can pass through the human body through food chain, then causes mercury poisoning, and endangers human beings'health.Relying on the co-financing of Science and Technology Department of Sichuan Province thesis project "the research of mercury pollution in Chengdu and quality safety of livestock aquatic products " (07JY029-028), " the Specialized Research Fund of High Colledge Doctoral Program (20060616020)" and the Chinese Geological Survey, " Geochemical evaluation of urban ecology in Chengdu Economic Zone "(200314200015). Through the mercury analysis in typical fish aquatic products and vegetables, the safety of mercury in aquatic products and vegetables in the suburban of Chengdu. Compared with the mercury content in water, stream sediment ,soil and air dust,we study the circulation of mercury in the environment. We acquire the main knowledge as follows:aquatic products :on basis of national food hygienic criteria (mercury 300ng/g in fish, methyl mercury 200ng/g in fish) the mercury and methyl mercury in fish are not exceeded; The contents of methyl Hg showed positive correlation with total Hg in the same fish. In spatial, the mercury content of fish is as follows in sequence: eastern> western> southern; The mercury and methyl mercury content in different kinds of fish from high to low are as follows: catfish> common carp> carp> grass carp, carnivorous fish> omnivorous fish> herbivorous fish; The mercury content in viscera takes a larger part in fish.vegetable :Compared with vegetable harmless quality standard, the contents of Hg in partly leeks exceed the standard, the contents of Hg in red rape exceed the standard. Chinese cabbage,ipomoea batata,lettuce root and white radishes are not exceeded, The results showed that mercury enrichment factor in leaves is higher than in tubers. The security of the sideline aquatic products in suburb of Chengdu is closely related with the surrounding environment.
