Springback is a universal phenomenon in sheet metal forming process, it directly affects the dimensional accuracy and surface quality for the product, and it is one of the hardest technical problems can not solve effectively. Springback problem in the Press Manual is based on sheet plate, involving very few profiles. Profiles have to design a lightweight and high rigidity to meet requirements, are widely used in aerospace vehicles, automobiles, rail vehicles, and other parts of the skeleton, in the actual production profile of the process are common.It can not use the empirical formula and the die design data of the Press Manual in the profile bending die design. In the absence of accurate data to guide, make profile bending die design difficult, and increase costs of production.Analysis was made on the gradual cold-roll forming via press bending method for an U-shaped section steel part. First, described the basic principles and steps to create a sheet metal forming simulation of finite element analysis model, simulation results are analyzed and evaluated.Next,analyses the forming performance of the part with the help of DYNAFORM software, forming defects which generated in the process are predicted,so it makes the structural of the bending mould perfect.Then, simulate the process of bending via the post-processing tools of the software, the stress, strain and thickness during the deformation are made quantitative analysis, and their impact on the forming quality are predicted.A relatively accurate springback amount was obtained by using experiment and FEA.The results of a finite element analysis were verified its reliability.Finally,an orthogonal experiment was designed and analyzed the factors which influence springback, and obtained a springback prediction model of U-shaped section steel bending by regression analysis.ΔR=-63.38 +7.74x1 +1.45x2 +3.95x3Where,ΔR—Radius springback amount;x1—Mechanical properties of materials(σs/E);x2—Relative bending radius of the Profile(R/H);x3—Parameter of Cross-section shape(B/H)。It has a good reliability in the producing.To sum up, the result are useful in die design and producing.
