In this paper, we take the chairs of Ming-style furniture as a research target and discuss the regularity of its space composition, so we can provide a feasible modeling reference for the in-depth understanding of both Ming-style furniture and modern furniture design. And we analyze the visual composition of the Ming-style furniture from two aspects including the two-dimensional flat space and the three-dimensional space. We also specifically analyze the elements like decoration, constructional modality and so on. The visual composition of the Ming-style furniture is the harmony and rhythm of the mass in the mutual relationship between chair furniture in the two-dimensional flat space and in the three-dimensional space. In this paper, we mainly focus on the connection between the decoration,structure unit and decoration,the constructional harmony. And we also focus on the regularities and codes which are represented in the compositional aspects including the two-dimensional flat space and the three-dimensional space.We research the two-dimensional flat space compositional research of Ming-style chair furniture by using several research methods including the detailed picture information, analysis and synthesis, inductive and deductive research approaches, here we focus on the decoration of the Ming-style chair furniture, constructional monomer, the implied visual characteristics, and also the artistic effect reflected when the two are combined together. From these three aspects, we analyze and explain the construction of point, line, and plain in the two-dimensional flat space and the regularity between the modality and each constitutional element. And by putting the concrete modeling into the specific constructional theory to analyze and discuss, we come to the conclusion that from the perspective of decorative compositional modality, chairs of Ming-style furniture fit the scientific nature of Tow Dimensional Composition regulation in modern designs.Then in this paper, we discuss the constructional research of three-dimensional space of chairs of Ming-style furniture from two aspects:the influence of both visual impact sphere and spatial impact to people in the three-dimensional space. We mainly rely on the visual habits in the three-dimensional space to analyze the compositional elements of chair furniture itself and the whole modeling constructional modality, and we also put it into the concrete constructional elements analysis of the point, line, plane and system in three-dimensional space. Here mainly by using analytic induction, we find out the visual impact sphere and spatial impact which is reflected by different compositional forms of Ming-style furniture in the three-dimensional space, And the research of this part is an effective way for us to form an thorough understanding of the scientific nature of Ming-style furniture modeling and to expose the essence of its beauty.In this paper, we use the constructional analysis to analyze the typical decorative patterns, and the abstract modeling of each dot, line, and plain in the construction. And we take something like the internal compositional elements and the integral connection into the in-depth study. We expose the internal regularity of the unique artistic style of the Ming-style chair furniture, and results of this study can provide not only some reference for future researches of the scientific modeling of the Ming-style furniture, but also some relatively feasible modeling designs of furniture.
