| Vinyl Acetate-Acrylate copolymer emulsion adhesive is one of the emulsion adhesive which is developed most fast since 1980s . Based on the research status of acetate-acrylate emulsion adhesive ,the emulsion copolymerization is performed according to molecule design theory. we optimize the synthesis technics and adjust the combination of monomer .Good performance vinyl acetate-acrylate emulsion which is used in woods is synthesized. We solved the problem of vinyl acetate/acrylic emulsion adhesive and develop the properties of copolymer emulsion adhesive. the measurements,such as TEM,FTIR,DSC and so on,are employed to characterize the structure of the adhesives. we analyze and discuss some influencing factors, such as synthesis,protecting colloid,reaction times, initiator,emulsifier,copolymer monomer,polymerization technology such as stirring velocity,on the properties of acrylate copolymer emulsion adhesive.The main results include that : (1)Good performance vinyl acetate- acrylate emulsion is synthesized . The performance of adhesive is studied. (2) The core-shell structured vinyl acetate - acrylate emulsion was synthesized by seed emulsion polymerization under monomer starved condition. some influencing factors such as the type and proportion of monomers, emulsifier, initiator, functional monomers and polymerization prosess such as stirring velocity, reaction temperature are in-depth analyzed and in details discussed.
